Threading the Line is an emotionally dramatic and demanding film that focuses on the emotional response to the inevitable as a son must accept the fact that his mother is dying.

Short Summary

• My name is Kai Le Roux, an up and coming filmmaker based in the heart of Western Sydney. I am eager to share my stories to the world and this film will be my stepping stone. I love to explore different and exciting ways to tell stories that many are unfamiliar to. I don't want to create movies, I want to create art. 
• This campaign is monumental to the success and creation of this short film. The money raised through this campaign will go to key elements that will make this film exquisite. It will provide a much needed breathing space so that the crew (and myself) can focus more on exploring and developing the story rather than dedicating time to find the finances to support the production. 
• Any backers who support this campaign, from the Clothes Peg tier to the Washing Line tier has helped make this project. You are the reason we can make this production happen. Without your support, Threading the Line short film wouldn't blossom to its fullest. 

What We Need & What You Get

• We need $500 to make this film. The money raised will go towards the hair and make up department to maximize their ability to make the film realistic and transform the characters between scenes. In addition, the money will also go towards supporting the crew during production through catering. 
• We are offering digital perks that maximizes the chances for backers to receive their rewards. This includes incredible opportunities to show off your support through special shout outs in the credits of the film through the 2nd, 4th, and 5th tiers respectively. Furthermore, you can gain exclusive access to behind the scenes footage of production across all days that we shoot, as well as a special download of the film before it is released.  
• Even if we don't reach our goals we will still allocate all the funds we have received to the hair and makeup department. Don't worry we will still cater the crew and will personally fund it. 

The Impact

• This is not my story. This film focuses on universal experiences that stretch beyond Western Sydney. This is a story about grief and acceptance. Every family has been impacted by death. It doesn't discriminate. It doesn't play favorites. It is inevitable. This story highlights the importance of family and shines a light on the little moments we spend with our loved ones. The moments that we may forget or overlook. The moments that mean the most when they are gone. 
• I have not experienced death as much as others. Although the thought of losing a loved one at any moment is soul crushing. I wanted to make this film to remind myself and others of the importance simple moments with those you love have on yourself as a person and how it shapes you. When they are gone, these are the moments you wish you could have back.

Risks & Challenges

• The biggest challenge that faces this project is the weather. This story is based in the outdoors, specifically the backyard of a family home. Changes in the weather, especially rain, could severely impact the possibility of filming. HOWEVER, this will not dissuade or prevent us from making this story happen. Whether we change the overall structure of the film and base it undercover, the core premise and themes will remain unchanged.  
• I have had issues with weather on a few projects and after making some adjustments the stories were still told.
