Project Summary

Fallopian of Fortune is a short film about a young woman who mysteriously begins giving birth to handwritten and printed notes that reveal secrets and predict the future. This leads her on a Surreal journey of self-discovery and connection with a sympathetic undocumented dishwasher with his own otherworldly abilities.

Fallopian of Fortune will be visually presented as a series of still photographs, similar to the illustrious “La Jetée”  by Chris Marker. For audio, our experimental film will have a voice-over in the style of the Alpha 60 computer (an anonymous French speaker who had his larynx removed) in Jean-Luc Godard’s "Alphaville.”  If you’ve seen either of these masterpieces, then you’ll surely respect the clever mash-up. If these works mean nothing to you, rest assured, your kind contribution will go to creating a much funnier film than either of those cinematic classics. The estimated running time of our film will be about 15 mins.

The video above is a proof of concept as to how the final film will look and sound. The final will feature actual actors and real locations, not stills from free stock photos.

Filmmaker

My name is Preston Miller and am 100% an Absurdist-American. Along with this film, I’m the writer/director behind such forgotten gems such as “l’Odge d’Oor or all things with eyes must sleep,”  “GOD’s LAND” and “Jones.”  I have been working in film for over 30 years and two or three other industries as well. I enjoy making films and other media with ideas, concepts and stories that haven't been seen before, that haven't been discovered yet. We surround ourselves with the familiar for good reason, for comfort and stability. I relish in creating alternatives to the familiar, typically with a dollop of Surrealist humor. A Brandeis University graduate, JB has honed her craft through training and performance at prestigious institutions like BADA in London, Upright Citizens Brigade, and The Collective NY. JB offers a unique and powerful presence to all her creative endeavors.

Fallopian of Fortune is seeking $5000 to make our fever dream a reality. The breakdown of expenses are as follows:

$ 500: Casting

$1000: Location rental and expenses (including meals for cast and crew)

$1000: Production Equipment Rental (lens, lighting, props, wardrobe)                         

$1500: Cast and Crew Salary            

$ 500: Post-production (editing FX pkgs., festival submissions)

$ 500: Misc./Contingency
